Sponsored content policy
Last updated 28 September 2026
Readers should always know when a company paid for what they read.
This policy sets how paid placements ordered through WIRE.AD appear on the media outlets in its network. Labels appear before the text and in listings; outbound links in paid placements carry the sponsored attribute.
Labels
- Press releases are labelled Press release. Sponsored articles are labelled Sponsored.
- The label sits at the top of the page, before the text, and in listings that show the placement.
- Labels are never removed or softened, whatever the order.
Links
- Every outbound link in a paid placement carries rel="sponsored".
- We do not sell dofollow links or link placements on their own.
Writing
- Each outlet runs its own version, written for its readers from the fact sheet the buyer approves.
- Statements of the buyer are quoted or attributed to the buyer. The outlet does not present them as its own findings.
- Claims we cannot confirm are cut or attributed.
- Crypto, trading and investment placements carry the risk wording the market requires.
Editorial independence
Paid placements do not change an outlet's editorial content, rankings, comparisons or reference data. A sponsor cannot buy a position in them.
Term and corrections
- Placements stay live for the agreed term.
- For 30 days after publication we update a placement when the buyer's facts change.
- Factual errors are corrected like editorial copy.
